professor JEAN-FRANÇOIS HENNART, TIlburg university, the netherlands

PROFESSOR JEAN-FRANÇOIS HENNART is a consultant to the University of Pavia, Professor in Strategy and International Business at Queen’s University Management School, Belfast, Distinguished Visiting Professor in Strategy and Organization at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University, and Extramural Scholar at Tilburg University Center for Research in Economics and Business.

He was previously Anheuser-Busch Assistant Professor of International Business at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Professor of International Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Tilburg University.

His research focuses on the comparative study of international economic institutions such as multinational firms and their contractual alternatives, joint ventures and alliances, and modes of foreign market entry. His 1982 book, "A Theory of Multinational Enterprise", pioneered the application of transaction cost theory to international business and he is considered one of the prominent scholars in this area. In 2012 he was named Booz&Co/Strategy+Business Eminent Scholar in International Management by the International Management Division of the Academy of Management for his scholarly contributions to transaction cost theory and international business. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business and of the European International Business Academy and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Vaasa. There are 9,700 Google Scholar citations to his work, which has been published in the "Journal of International Business Studies, the Strategic Management Journal", the "Global Strategy Journal", "Management International Review", "Management Science, Organization Science", the "Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and the "Journal of Retailing", among others. He is a consulting editor to the Journal of International Business Studies and serves in the editorial boards of many other International Business and strategy journals.

professor naresh K. malhotra, georgia tech, usa

PROFESSOR NARESH K. MALHOTRA is Senior Fellow, Georgia Tech CIBER and Regents' Professor Emeritus, Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology, the USA. In 2010, he was selected as a Marketing Legend and his refereed journal articles were published in nine volumes by Sage with tributes by other leading scholars in the field.  He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America continuously since 51st Edition 1997 and in Who’s Who in the World since 2000. In 2017, he received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. In 2015, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior, India. He received also the prestigious Academy of Marketing Science CUTCO/Vector Distinguished Marketing Educator Award in 2005. In 2011, he received the Best Professor in Marketing Management, Asia Best B-School Award.

In the article by Wheatley and Wilson (1987 AMA Educators' Proceedings), Professor Malhotra was ranked number one in the USA based on articles published in the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR) during 1980-1985.  He also holds the all-time record for the maximum number of publications in the Journal of Health Care Marketing. He is also ranked number one based on publications in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science since its inception through Volume 23, 1995, based on publications in JAMS during the ten-year period 1986-1995, based on publications in the International Marketing Review since its inception (1983) to 2006.

He has published more than 140 papers in major refereed journals, including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Health Care Marketing, and leading journals in Statistics, Management Science, Information Systems, and Psychology. In addition, he has also published numerous refereed articles in the proceedings of major international conferences. Numerous of his articles have received best paper research awards.  

He is Chairman of the Emerging Markets Conference Board the Lead Program Co-Chair of the annual conferences organized by the Board. He was Chairman, Academy of Marketing Science Foundation 1996-1998, President, Academy of Marketing Science 1994-1996. 

Professor Malhotra is the Founding Editor of Review of Marketing Research and served as an Associate Editor of Decision Sciences for 18 years and has served as Section Editor, Health Care Marketing Abstracts, Journal of Health Care Marketing.  Also, he serves on the Editorial Board of eight (8) journals.

He has taught in 35 countries worldwide.

Dr. Malhotra has consulted for business, non-profit and government organizations in the USA and all over the world and has served as an expert witness in legal and regulatory proceedings.  He has special expertise in survey design, data analysis and statistical methods.

professor pervez ghauri, university of birmingham, uk

PROFESSOR PERVEZ GHAURI is Professor of International Business at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, UK. He completed his PhD at Uppsala University in Sweden where he also taught for several years. After Uppsala, he joined Oslo Business School (later merged with Norwegian School of Management), Oslo Norway as Dean for Academic Affairs (Provost) where he developed an International MBA programme. In 1993, he joined University of Groningen, Netherlands as Professor of Marketing and International Business and later served as Dean for the period 1997 – 2000. In 2001 he was asked to join Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, as Professor of International Business where he developed a Centre for International Business Studies and an MSc in International Business. During the period 2008 to 2015 he was Professor of International Business at King’s College London where he developed an MSc in International Marketing and reorganized the MSc in International Management.

Pervez was visiting Professor at Michigan State University, USA during the period 2000 – 2001 and is Visiting Professor at University of Vaasa, Finland, Uppsala University and Lund University in Sweden and holds British Hispanic Foundation’s “Queen Victoria Eugenia” Honorary Chair for Postgraduate studies at Complutense University in Madrid, Spain.

He served as Vice President for Academy of International Business from 2008 – 2010. He is Fellow of Academy of International Business (AIB) and of European International Business Academy (EIBA). Recently, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate by Turku School of Economics and Management, University of Turku, Finland.

Pervez has published more than 30 books on International Business and International Marketing topics and numerous articles in journals such as; Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Management International Review, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing and International Marketing Review.

He consults and offers training programmes to a number of organisations such as; BP, Airbus Industries and Ericsson. He is the founding Editor in Chief for International Business Review, the official journal of EIBA, and was Editor (Europe) for Journal of World Business for the years 2007 – 2014. He is also series editor for the book series International Business and Management.

Professor alexander brem, Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany 

PROFESSOR ALEXANDER BREM holds the Chair of Technology Management at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, which is located at the Nuremberg Campus of Technology (NCT). He is a CCSR international research associate at DeMontfort University (UK) and a visiting professor at the EADA Business School in Barcelona (Spain) and HHL Graduate School of Management (Germany). Moreover, he serves as an Academic Committee Member of the Center of Technological Innovation, Tsinghua University, Beijing (China). In addition, he was appointed Honorary Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in May 2017.
 
After graduating in the field of business administration in 2004, he co-founded the consultancy firm VEND consulting with three fellow students which was nominated for the Bavarian Entrepreneurship Award and won the Franconian Entrepreneurship Award. At the same time, he was employed as a research associate at FAU, where he completed his doctoral degree in 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he worked full-time at VEND consulting, both as managing director and as consultant focusing on high-tech companies. In this period, he joined the founding team of the biotech-startup Agrolytix as CEO and won the nationwide Science4Life Entrepreneurship competition and the Business Plan Competition of northern Bavaria.
 
From 2011 to 2014 Alexander Brem held an assistant professorship (“Juniorprofessur”) at FAU. Afterwards, he was appointed professor of Technology and Innovation Management at the Mads Clausen Institute at SDU. There, he was also head of the interdisciplinary section SDU Innovation and Design Engineering with staff in Sønderborg, Kolding and Odense.
 
His primary research interest is technology and innovation management with a special focus on interdisciplinary links to creativity and entrepreneurship. Consequently, he publishes in international business journals like Journal of Business Research or Technovation, but also in other areas like in Computers in Human Behaviour or Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts.
